I have finally settled into my new place... I love it!
My own little apartment, no one to share things with, and any mess will be my own mess... I don't have to clean up after others. Sorry, after having housemates for the past few years, I have had enough... I mean, most of the time my housemates are okay but living with other people does create a unique recipe for conflicts. My new place is nearer to the hospital and also closer to transport so it's less agonizing as well as less nerve-wrecking to walk home after a late-night out.
I'm going into my 3rd week of my last term and realize several things:
1) It's tiring... Having to wake up at 7am everyday and "work" for 8 hours or so.
2) It can be fun as I get to play with the kids while I'm taking history or examining them.
3) Never do something that you are asked to do WITHOUT clarifying why! Because chances are other people will ask you why and you will look like an idiot when all you can say is "I don't know... I was asked to do this.".
4) There's always people who are super-competitive.
The most bizarre thing I was asked to do (yes, I knew why) this week was to snip off a bit of patient's hair to test for presence of heavy metals. I mean I thought this only happens in mystery/ crime novels. But apparently it's done in hospitals as well. So I trod off to inform the parents what I had to do... To my surprise, they did not give me a weird look. In fact, they agreed that they suspected heavy metals as well.
